The Traffic Light System (Covid19 Protection Framework-CPF)

To Meet The Government’s Covid19 Protection Framework (CPF) Guidelines, All Waimarino Visitors And Customers Will Be Required To Sign In And Present Their My Vaccine Pass At Check-In Or When Entering Our Facilities.  Any Person Who Cannot / Does Not Present A VALID My Vaccine Pass Will Not Be Allowed To Enter The Premises Or Participate In Any Of Our Activities.

The Government has implemented a new COVID-19 Protection Framework which came into effect on December 3rd 2021. This involves a 3-level "traffic-light" approach to managing COVID-19 and requires the use of vaccine certificates. 

We will supply face masks for all clients. These will be required to be worn in all vehicles. And in all 'raft up' scenarios when on the Kayak Tours. For all Kanu Tours these will be required to be worn throughout the tour. 

All clients will be required to use hand sanitiser upon check in and social distance whenever possible to ensure the comfortability and safety of other clients.

Our staff will have reusable Face Masks that are rated to a KN90 standard and filter at least 90% of all airborne particles down to pm2.5. These are to be worn in all vehicles and in any instance where our guides are in close contact with clients.

These procedures are in place to protect our staff and our clients. Payment of your tour constitutes the acceptance of these health and safety procedures.

At all levels of the CPF, visitors (aged over 12 years and 3 months) will be required to provide an approved and valid Vaccine Pass upon check-in for their kayak tour. Along with this, photo identification or a copy of photo ID is to be provided upon request.

If you are unable to get the COVID-19 vaccine for medical reasons, there is an exemption process to get your My Vaccine Pass.

You will need to talk to your doctor and they will apply on your behalf.

My Vaccine Pass is the official Ministry of Health system that records your COVID-19 vaccination status. You can read more about it or request your My Vaccine Pass here.  

You can request a My Vaccine Pass if you are aged 12 or over and:

  • Have had 2 doses of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in New Zealand, or
  • Have been vaccinated overseas with an approved vaccine, or
  • have a medical exemption.

Your My Vaccine Pass will include your name, date of birth a QR code and an expiry date of six months after the issue date. You can save it on a digital device, like your phone, or print a physical copy.

That is your personal decision. However, any person who cannot present a valid My Vaccine Pass will not be allowed to participate in any of our Kayak Tours.

If you cannot present your My Vaccine Pass, you will not be permitted to participate in our Tours and will not be given a refund.

If you have cold, flu or COVID19 symptoms prior to visiting Waimarino, please stay home and call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice about getting tested. In this case, rescheduling your tour is acceptable.

All vaccinated people are still able to participate. Anyone who cannot produce a My Vaccine Pass at Check-In will not be allowed to participate on our tours. We will not be able to refund people who made a booking and are unable to present a My Vaccine Pass. Please refer to our full Terms and Conditions for more information.
